		<description>Yes, you can change it in rc.local, but keep in mind that this is a global setting -&gt; for all processes, so anybody can open more files/sockets. Putting it in /etc/default/dovecot increases the fds for dovecot only. But that&#039;s just paranoid me ;)</description>

Anyway, another easy way to let the ulimit command start at boot, would be adding it to /etc/rc.local :)</description>
